Born and raised in Union County, Tennessee, Kayla received her Associates in Nursing from Lincoln Memorial University in 2005. She then pursued and completed her Bachelors in Nursing Degree from East TN State University in 2009, and earned her Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Austin Peay State University in 2011.
"As a nurse, I have worked in a variety of settings including St. Mary's Hospital and UT Hospital. I've spent time in many different hospital units: cardiology, med-surg, neurology, CCU, ICU, and oncology. As a Nurse Practitioner, I have worked in Family Practice and Urgent Care, and I have provided care within patients' homes and assisted living communities. I am married to my wonderful husband, David Newcomb, and we have two amazing sons, Garrett and Case. I enjoy spending time with my family, church, hiking, biking, swimming, riding 4-wheelers, and shopping! I love a good grilled chicken salad, and chocolate is always on the menu!"
